Since 2014, the mission-driven team at the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) has helped fuel the tremendous growth of the Stellar blockchain network, an open-source platform that operates at high-scale today. Our mission is about using technology to reach people where they are and when they need it most. Cash-based interventions from humanitarian organizations serve as a lifeline to millions worldwide in support of basic needs. Engineers helping build Stellar Aid Assist leverage the power of the Stellar network and its ecosystem to get money into the hands of those who need it. The platform is engineered for performance, affordability, scale to millions of users, and quick, easy deployment. The SDF team is expanding the Stellar Aid Assist team to meet these needs and help the platform get aid to people in a moment of crisis.
In this role, you will:
- Lead architecture, planning, and development of products and features that enable aid organizations to deliver cash assistance to vulnerable populations quickly, affordably, and transparently
- Engage with SDF partners consistently on a technical level that directly address customer technical and business goals
- Work with other disciplines such as Ops and SRE to ensure high quality delivery of software in production
- Be an advocate for partners and the open source community by keeping their needs front and center
- Estimate timelines for tasks and effectively manage projects to completion
- Build for both closed and open source.
You have:
- Proficiency with Go programming language building distributed microservices at scale
- Experience with design and development of REST APIs
- Solid grasp of at least one SQL or NoSQL database technology such as Postgres or MongoDB
- Digital payments/fintech experience
- Have deployed and supported products on at least one Cloud provider such as AWS or GCP
- Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch
- Strong technical leadership and expertise
- Outstanding interpersonal abilities and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail, plus analytical and problem-solving capabilities
You might also:
- Be fluent in Go, Java, C++, Python or similar popular languages
- Have experience or understanding of infrastructure engineering that includes monitoring, container orchestration, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
- Have experience with blockchain networks, and understand the fundamentals of these systems
- Author detailed technical protocol specifications - we take design seriously, and we encourage everyone to be a part of the development of our technical ecosystem standards
- Be an open source project contributor
We offer competitive pay with a base salary range for this position of $150,000 - $190,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, we offer lumen-denominated grants along with the following perks and benefits:
