About the role/team: 

Robinhood Poland is looking for engineers to join our Engineering team, which builds and owns backend services and infrastructure that power our core U.S. financial products. Our engineers gain a unique look into how the US financial systems works on the inside and strengthen their financial-domain knowledge. We strive for a high standard of engineering quality while solving unique scalability challenges. Our Senior Software Engineers work in high-impact roles on high-priority initiatives across engineering. Our immediate objective is to build our Engineering Team in Poland. As a founding engineer at Robinhood Poland, you will have the opportunity to work with US-based Robinhood Engineers while directly influencing how we establish a strong engineering team in this new entity.

What we expect you’ll do day-to-day:

• Set up and drive technical directions of the project while mentoring and up-leveling junior engineers on the team. 
• Supporting core backend for differing Robinhood products/systems.
• Design large-scale systems within the team, making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate and lead cross functional projects.

About you:

You could be a great fit if you have some or all of the below.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building high-throughput, low-latency distributed services.
• Experience planning and leading large projects with long-term impact on multiple services and/or teams.
• Strong technical grasp and excellent judgment on project scoping and work prioritization.
• Able to tackle challenging engineering problems in complex domains that deliver results.
• History of creating and applying new processes and tooling to increase engineering efficiency.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, databases, batch processing systems.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and extensive experience in good API design practices (gRPC and/or REST).
• Experience building one or more large-scale services in Golang.
