Responsibilities:
The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for: conferring with the Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science teams at Circle on the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of the scalable Circle data platform; generating and modeling data for product life cycle management, data governance, and regulatory, legal, and security compliance matters; providing data analytics and visualization tools for the extracting of valuable insights and to inform data-driven decisions to cross-functional teams; building scalable infrastructure to support batch, micro-batch, and/or stream data processing for large data volumes; utilizing programming languages such as Java, Scala, and/or Python; designing, building, and maintaining data ETL/ELT pipelines to source and aggregate the data for various analyses necessitated by Circle’s aim for continuous product improvement; and utilization of data technologies such as Spark, Presto, MLflow, Kafka, AWS Kineses, Parquet, Flink, and Spark Streaming, as well as workflow orchestration management engines such as Airflow, and Cloud Serivces like AWSS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to Circle headquarters in Boston, MA.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements:
*Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related software engineering positions. Other special requirements include: Three (3) years of experience developing data warehouses and analytical platforms; Three (3) years of experience in dimensional modeling; Three (3) years of experience developing ETL to ingest data into data warehouses; Three (3) years of experience developing ETL utilizing Python, Spark, SQL, and PL/SQL; Three (3) years of experience conducting business intelligence and business information needs analysis in AGILE methodology; Three (3) years of experience conducting data warehouse/data base performance assessment and optimization
Rate of Pay: $185,000.00- $250,000.00
