CoinDesk is seeking to contract a Digital Media Production Assistant to assist with the production of CoinDesk TV and how that content appears on coindesk.com and off-platform. Responsibilities include updating the CoinDesk homepage with daily and weekly livestream shows, maintaining quality standards for copy attached to CoinDesk TV, and publishing videos to unique URLs. Staying closely on top of schedules, fast and confident editing of copy, and good communication skills (mostly via Slack) are all crucial parts of the job.
This role will work closely with the multimedia team, coordinating copy changes, adding video IDs and supporting producers on the fly, within the CMS, when needed. Digital news experience and strong editorial skills are preferred, and this individual should be comfortable using programs like Airtable, Slack, WordPress and JW Player.
This is an ongoing contract role that requires in office attendance at our studio in New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with CoinDesk TV production team and Editorial dept., ensuring deadlines are met
- Monitor Slack channels for updates to live broadcast and when clips are ready to publish
- Confirm schedules and guests of daily and weekly shows
- Prepare and publish episode pages to unique URLs in advance of broadcast
- Update and maintain episode and clip pages as broadcasts transition from live to VOD
- Optimize episode pages for SEO (i.e. the SEO title, meta description)
- Upload cut videos to CMS
- Copy edit live stream copy as well as titles, deks and descriptions for all episodes and clips throughout the day
- Embed videos into related stories, both current and evergreen
- Curate and embed videos on related landing pages (ie. price pages, recent videos etc.)
- Upload YouTube videos with headlines and descriptions
- Recommend ways to optimize workflow
- Copy editing and publishing copy for social media posts for video, including fact-checking social media handles
Skills:
- Copy editing/proofreading
- Strong communicator — working knowledge of Slack best practices
- Extremely organized - able to manage separate editing and uploading tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with content management systems, esp. WordPress
- Familiarity with project management software, esp. AirTable
- Familiarity with digital video hosting platforms such as JW Player, Brightcove and others
- Familiarity with YouTube publishing dashboard
- Familiarity with social media language and syntax on Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin
